But with this afternoons press announcement came new advised restrictions which greatly affect us.

It is our responsibility to safeguard the future of Smile as well as all Smilers. But, the point that has hit home the most for us, is that it is all of our responsibilities to protect our health service, as well as it’s workers from breaking under the potential strain it is currently threatened with.

To continue with our plans would make us irresponsible and would be putting our reputation and our finances in great jeopardy. As it stands we are set to lose money yet to wait just another few weeks and cancellation would cost us more than double what it will at this stage.

So, we are officially announcing the cancellation of Something to Smile About 2020. We were prepared for this outcome even though we hoped it would not come to pass and so here is the information you all need to know, whether you have purchased tickets yet or not.

We have secured dates for Smile 2021 to take place at Cabourne Parva on the 4/5/6 June. As ever we promise to make it something Super Special and Extra Smiley.

Now we have 3 options for those that have already purchased tickets:

1: Full refund (excluding booking fees)

2: Carry your tickets forward for Smile 2021

3: A Donation to a pot which will be split between ourselves to cover our lost expenses, and between our bands and stall holders, who will as a result of this be losing a good chunk of income. We propose that we will spend at least half of all funds or, if we get enough of you selecting this option, all funds above our lost expenses equally with every band so far booked to perform and every craft trader, on merchandise. This merchandise we will collect and depending on the number of people choosing this option, divide it into 2 or 3 equal parts and pick random people from those that donated to win the merch bundles. This way we support the artists, the stalls and enable Smile to go into 2021 on a blank slate.

We will contact all ticket buyers by email with this information and will only accept responses via email.

Our Site:

2020 sees Something to Smile About move to a new home, a very special home.  We have secured the use of the award winning festival site Cabourne Parva, located near Caistor in Lincolnshire this site is a perfect match for Smile and will enhance our festival greatly and hopefully become a permanent home for all things Smile. The site boasts flushing toilets (that have won their own awards) as well as naturally heated showers, huge camping spaces, excellent access for disabled and a safe environment for families, all the things you love about Smile and more will still be on offer. The site has basic rules, no alcohol to be brought into the arena space and no campfires, only raised BBQ’s are permitted.  Dogs are still allowed but must be kept on leads whilst on site and cleaned up after of course.[/eventime_text_section][vc_gmaps link=”#E-8_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” size=”450″][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1568277947377{background-color: #ffffff !important;}”]
