Jess Silk first came to our attention when our good friends at Groovy Festival just wouldn’t stop talking about how good she was, and after catching a little bit of her set we agree and know she will fast become a crowd favourite on the festival scene.
Jess is a guitarist, singer and songwriter from the Black Country. Her shouty but melodic brand of folk/punk music often has her being likened to a female Frank Turner or Billy Bragg, and it gets people sitting up and listening. Armed only with an increasingly sticker-covered acoustic guitar and a distinctive, gravely voice that many don’t expect, Jess plays to audiences up and down the country and has shared stages with many well known names among the folk/punk scene.
Jess will be opening up the main stage on the Saturday at Smile, so please everyone get the coffees or breakfast ciders on the go early and do not miss her!
